HOWO Tipper Trucks: Choosing the Right Configuration

A tipper has one job: carry loose material and unload it quickly and safely. But the right configuration depends on what you carry, where you load and where you tip.

Start with the material

Sand, ballast, crushed stone, soil and rock weigh differently and treat a body differently. Heavier and sharper materials call for a stronger body and thicker steel, while lighter loads let you prioritise volume.

Think about the site

Soft, uneven or steep ground puts more demand on traction and ground clearance than a hard, level haul road. Tell your supplier about the worst section of your route, not the average one.

Compare the key points

  • Payload and body capacity against the material you carry
  • Axle configuration and its effect on load distribution and traction
  • Engine power and torque for loaded gradients
  • Body type, floor and side thickness, and the tipping mechanism
  • Cab and chassis condition, warranty and delivery arrangements

Check the legal load

Whatever the body can hold, the truck must be loaded within its weight ratings and the limits that apply on your route. A larger body is not an advantage if you cannot fill it legally.

See the tipper trucks on this website for configurations currently listed.
